Campaign positions

Today in class we discussed the campaign process and various job positions they might have to fill. Which positions, do you feel, are the most pertinent to the campaign?

  1. I think that the top three most important job positions for a campaign would be (in no particular order) 1) Campaign manager for their knowledge and experience with the entire process. They would be key in organizing the route of the campaign. 2) Social Media Manager for their expertise in internet usage and on social media itself. This is similar to having the media document the campaign process, except it is more DIY and personal with the general public. It also makes it easier for average social media users to follow nominees for their updates and comments. 3) A Media Consultant is someone who a public relations executive that is hired to obtain positive press coverage of the nominee and his/her events. This is key to gaining momentum for a campaign. People will see the positive views on the nominee and understand they will be running for position.

  2. I also think a campaign manager and a social media manager are the most pertinent to the campaign. A campaign manager will be essential in keeping track of what is going on in the campaign and making sure everything is running smoothly. Also , a social media manager will be beneficial in bringing more attention to the candidate's platforms and to also make sure the candidate is putting himself out there.

  3. I believe a campaign manager as well as a social media manager and a speech writer are the three most pertinent jobs for a campaign. A campaign manager is extremely essential because they are basically in charge of everything. This job is very time consuming and the president cannot do everything by himself, so by having a manager it allows the process to happen more coherently and more organized. A media manager is also important because the candidate needs to gain a lot of publicity. The candidate must attract people that'll inevitably vote for them and media is omnipresent; media will connect the candidate to the people and by having someone in charge of media, many events can be created for the candidate to get to know the people more and for the people to get to know about their views. I also think a speech writer is important because, like I said this is a very time consuming job and there isn't enough time for the candidate to do it all on his own, but also the way a candidate expresses themselves may leave a mark on how people will view their persona. A candidate shouldn't have a vague speech, that's just plain old simple... I think whenever a candidate gives a speech he or she must get their message across with powerful words and speech writers are the go to people when it comes to that sort of thing.

  4. I believe fund raiser position is the most pertinent jobs in a campaign. I believe it is important to find someone on the campaign staff to handle and balance a budget responsibility since money means everything including speech. Campaign is very expensive therefore it is important to have enough funding for it.

  5. I believe that a speech writer and a campaign manager are of great importance and influence during a candidate's process of being elected. The campagin manager has a very tough job since he has to coordinate all of the campaign's operations such as advertising, polling and fundraising. On then other hand, a speech writer is super essential because it writes the speeches for the candidate to deliver. Speeches are very important becausr through them, the people get sort of an idea of the personality of the candidate or if he or she will be a good president.

  6. I also agree that campaign manager and social media manager are the most important campaign positions. The campaign manager is going to help frame and organize the entire campaign. It would be difficult for the candidate to have make himself known while doing a lot of other jobs himself. Social media manager is also very important because a lot of people are on social media. It's easy to reach people through the internet, but the candidate needs to make sure he makes a good image for himself or else he'll look like a fool.

  7. I believe that a speech write and a social media manager are the most important campaign positions. As a candidate, it is crucial for them to get their platform across without creating confusion. The words must be persuasive and be able to convince the American people that you are most qualified for President. That means a speech writer can proofread speeches, provided much confidence for the candidate. As for social media manager, it is important for someone to oversee what is happening online. Since the younger generation (18-25) are heavily influenced by social media (ex: Twitter, Instagram, etc), the candidate must reflect a positive image. Also, the social media platform allows candidates to spread their views quickly and become visible for everyone to see. That means a social media manager must be responsible to produce the positive image online and successfully represent the candidate.

  8. I believe a good campaign manager is key. They are the person in charge of making the candidate look good as possible. They oversee everything else, wheather it is slogans, social media, news coverage, speeches, and even how she or he presents themselves. The campaign managers goal is basically to win, when the candidate wins the better they look. Imagine a campaign without a campaign manager, their would be miscommunication, staff could mess up and eventually make the campaign and party fall.

  9. I believe that the most important person is the social media/PR positions. These are the people who put the candidates out there and keep them relevant. They make their major issues and positions known and they keep the public up to date about the candidate. That way the public will know which candidate to vote for.

  10. I believe the two most important roles are, the social media and the speech writer. The social media position has to keep informing the person's followers what the candidate is up to. they have to make sure that everyone is informed with the info of their candidates and connect with their followers. The speech writer has to make the candidate look good. they have to make sure the wording is correct and everything is said right.
